Hội Tết Hướng Đạo

On Feb 24, 2018, LD Potomac joined other Vietnamese scouts around the region to celebrate Lunar New Year at Centreville High School. The celebration is a time when all local Liên Đoàn get together to share culture, traditions, and laughter along with wishing health, prosperity, and happiness for everyone.

The event started with a lion dance featuring four lions. Scouts from Liên Đoàn Hùng Vương performed the lion dance. Next, every Liên Đoàn took turns performing skit, dance, or song for the celebration.

Our Liên Đoàn Potomac Junior group performed a fan dance to ‘Tết Tết Tết Tết Đến Rồi’ – a famous new year song. The dancers practiced many weeks on the routine.

Liên Đoàn Potomac Troop ran a traditional Vietnamese game called ‘đá cầu’ or foot badminton.

Everyone had a great time, learned something new, reunited with old friends from area Liên Đoàn and made some new friends for the new year!
