IOLS/BALOO Training

Over the weekend, three LD Potomac leaders braved the wet weather to attend the BSA IOLS (Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skill) and BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) training. The event was at Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship at Purcellville, VA. In attendance were Peter Le, Thinh Luu, and Minh-Tuan Ho. All of the participants had a good time learning, playing games, and enjoying the campfire.

The leaders left the training with a full understanding of how the patrol method operates, a feeling of comfort in working with and instructing their Scouts, and an increased level of confidence taking Scouts outdoors safely. With that comes great satisfaction.
